    What documents are required?
    If applying as an individual you need:
  • Certified Omang for Botswana citizens or Passport and Work Permit copies for expatriates residing in Botswana. For non-residents, a certified copy of Passport.
  • Proof of residence (utility bill, letter from employer, affidavit).
  • Proof of Bank account (confirmation letter from the bank, recent bank statement stamped by the bank).
  • Proof of employment and source of funds (confirmation letter from employer).
  • How can I make deposits and withdrawals?

    Deposits and withdrawals can be made via bank transfer. For contributions, proof of deposit must be submitted along with the contribution form. Withdrawals will be processed within T+2 working days.

    When can I make withdrawals?

    Generally, redemption amounts will be paid to the banking details provided at the time of account opening, as long as the bank account bears the same name of the investor.

    As a unit trust investor in a Morula unit trust, how often do I get statements?

    A daily transaction statement will be shared to client’s email after every transaction. A monthly statement is shared showing all funds, and fact sheets are shared monthly.

    Do I pay tax on a unit trust?

    Yes. Withholding Tax is held within the fund and remitted to BURS and the Tax Certificate is sent to you as and when remissions have been done. However, the full Tax implications depend on individual circumstances and prevailing Botswana tax laws. Consulting a tax advisor for personalized advice is recommended.
